The ModComFest 2025 opened in Chieti with Two Voices, One Flame, a vibrant programme featuring violinist Roman Kim and pianist Giuliano Mazzoccante performing works by Composer-in-Residence Michel Petrossian.
The evening included the Italian premiere of Stilleven for solo violin and the world premiere of Armenian Rock for violin and piano, showcasing Petrossian’s fusion of contemporary classical, rock, and popular influences. Both performers spoke of the responsibility and joy of bringing Petrossian’s music to life, while the composer himself praised their artistry and the audience’s warm response. Festival President Konstantin Ishkhanov hailed the concert as a perfect embodiment of ModComFest’s mission to spotlight today’s most creative voices, setting the tone for the festival’s journey across Europe.
