Star-Studded Roster Announced for ModComFest 2025
On the programme, renowned cellist Alexander Chaushian will be on stage alongside Ensemble 2e2m and its conductor Léo Margue, one of France's leading young conductors of contemporary music, to perform Michel Petrossian's concerto for cello and orchestra, ‘8.4’. Several of the composer's solo works will also be performed at this concert by violist Karine Lethiec, pianist Chae-Um Kim and violinist Elsa Grether. The extraordinary vocal talents of Ensemble Musicatreize will be put to good use in Petrossian's ‘Chanter l'icône’, in the opening concert conducted by Roland Hayrabédian, who has devoted a monographic album to the composer's vocal music.
For the festival finale, world-renowned conductor and composer Bruno Mantovani will lead the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain in Sept, les anges de Sinjar, a ballet inspired by Yazidi mythology, co-written by Petrossian and Aram Hovhannisyan and performed by dancers from the Compagnie Hallet-Eghayan.
